National DVT Awareness Month Call for Manuscripts

The Editors of ATVB are soliciting the submission of original manuscripts addressing a broad spectrum of topics on venous thromboembolism. This Call For Papers is in recognition of National DVT Awareness Month.

The Editors encourage submission of original articles that deal with basic, clinical, and population studies of venous thromboembolism. Papers addressing experimental and clinical studies are sought. Examples of interest areas include:

1) Mechanistic studies

2) Role of procoagulant microparticles

3) Risk factors

4) Development of new anticoagulants

5) Clinical trials

6) New animal models of venous thrombosis

7) Biomarker studies

Responding authors should indicate in their cover letter that the submitted manuscript is in response to this call for papers when submitting manuscripts via the online system at submit-atvb.ahajournals.org. The manuscript will undergo normal peer review. If accepted, the article will be published together with other studies appearing in response to this call and the issue will be highlighted in the March 2010 issue in recognition of "National DVT Awareness Month."

All papers to appear in this special Call for Papers must be accepted for publication no later than December 24, 2009.
