- Legend to Figure II. The requirement of gradient chemoattractant for SMC migration and invasion. After plating SMC into inner chamber, Transwell was incubated in the presence or absence of PDGF-BB (10 ng/mL) either in inner or outer chamber, or both chambers. After 6 hours incubation for migration assay (A) or 12 hours for invasion assay (B), the cells on outer side of the filters were fixed, stained, and counted in the 6 randomly chosen fields of duplicated filters at X200 magnification. Data are expressed as a percentage of migrated or invaded cell number when PDGF-BB was added in outer chamber but not in inner chamber. *P<0.01, **P<0.001.
